Metrology services

Since 1994, the CT2M has had a COFRAC accreditation for masses calibration (scope of accreditation n° 2.1292 available on the website www.cofrac.fr).

The French Accreditation Committee (COFRAC) is a national organization that recognizes the competence of the CT2M to calibrate weights with a high level of reliability, verified and controlled regularly through periodic evaluations.

Calibration and verification of weights and standards masses from 1 mg to 5 tonnes

Whatever the weight, you have the choice between a calibration service and a calibration + verification service:

Calibration only:

In the latter case, we provide you with a calibration certificate and a verification report. The declaration of conformity can be based on regulatory texts (OIML R111 or circular masses) or on your own MPME (Maximum Permissible Measurement Error). This service is adapted if you use your weight in consideration of its nominal value (e.g., 50 g).

Calibration + verification:

In the latter case, we provide you with a calibration certificate and a verification report The declaration of conformity can be based on regulatory textsOIML R111 or circular masses) or on your own MPME (Maximum Permissible Measurement Error). This service is adapted if you use your weight in consideration of its nominal value (e.g., 50 g).

Weight classification according to OIML R111 (from F1 to M3)

OIML R111 defines weight classes used in legal metrology (e.g., standards used to calibrate supermarket scales). This classification is also commonly adopted by laboratories not subject to legal metrology, although it is not mandatory for them.

Verification according to specific MPMEs

Outside legal metrology, you have the possibility to define your own MPMEs and calibration uncertainties according to your needs.

Adjustment and re-Compliance

If your standards are not compliant (too heavy or too light), we can adjust them to comply with the defined MPMEs.Adjustment consists of adding or removing material by abrasion, sanding or using the adjustment cavity.

If your standards have an unsatisfactory surface condition (presence of a label, flaking paint, dirt, etc.) or do not comply with applicable regulatory requirements, we bring them back into comformity by cleaning, sanding, painting, marking, etc

Before any intervention on your weights (adjustment or re-compliance), we perform an initial calibration to ensure the traceability of your standard since the last calibration. Note that this preliminary calibration is mandatory in legal metrology.
